Paul Burns is the President & CEO of the Canadian Gaming Association (CGA). He is a seasoned public affairs and gaming practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience in the private and public sectors.

Mr. Burns was instrumental in establishing the CGA in 2005 and under his leadership, the CGA has grown into a national trade association that represents leading operators and suppliers in Canada’s gaming, sports betting, eSports, and lottery industries

Advocacy is important work for the Canadian Gaming Association (CGA), as the CGA’s efforts have helped to shape public policy and expand access to gaming. Recent examples include the successful passing of Bill C-218 which legalized single-event sport wagering across Canada, and the launch of Ontario’s iGaming market in April 2022.
