Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes has vast experience in the gaming, sports betting and lottery sectors, and over her almost 20 years at GLI, she has been driving its regional strategy for both regulatory and business development as well as managing GLI´s service delivery to operators and suppliers throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain. She has had a protagonist role in the evolution of the Latin America and Caribbean industry while propelling a vision of a duly regulated transformation that is aligned with international best practices. She is also responsible for all GLI licensing processes throughout the region as well as operations of GLI’s regional laboratories and offices in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico. She is a Panamanian attorney with a Master’s in Commercial Law and Specialization in Public Law. Before joining GLI, she practised law in one of the most prestigious law firms in Panama and was later appointed as Legal Director of the Panama Gaming Control Board.
