Dr Simon Planzer is a partner at PLANZER LAW AG and has specialized in EU/EEA and Swiss gaming law for more than 15 years. He has been internationally recognised by regulatory authorities and professional rankings as a leading expert in the area of gaming regulation and has been regularly invited as an expert speaker by regulators at IAGR and GREF. Through his legal practice, publications, and presentations, Dr Planzer has substantially contributed to the cause of empirical and sound gaming regulation. He wrote his PhD on gaming regulation (“Empirical Views on European Gambling Law and Addiction”, Springer) and has published extensively on gaming matters. Dr Planzer serves as a Lecturer in Law at the University of St.Gallen where he heads the Competence Center on Gaming & Entertainment. He worked as a visiting scholar at Harvard University and further studied i.a. at the College of Europe and the European University Institute.
