I worked in the public sector for 19 years, 14 of which were at the Gambling Commission. While at the Gambling Commission, I saw the development of the gambling industry, not only from sectors such as betting being regulated for the first time but the implementation of the revisions to the Gambling Act in 2014 and the Commission's move to a more consumer focus in 2017. In 2020 I made the decision to move to industry and have been working as Head of Compliance for Betfred since. In this relatively short period, I have witnessed a significant change within the industry, especially in the compliance culture.
