Gretchen Corbin

President and CEO, Georgia Lottery Corporation
United States

Gretchen Corbin is the president and CEO of the Georgia Lottery Corporation. As president and CEO of the Georgia Lottery, Corbin’s business goal is to fulfil the Corporation’s mission to maximize revenues for HOPE and Pre-K, ensuring that Georgia’s students continue to have access to these important educational programs.

Under Corbin’s leadership, the Georgia Lottery has provided five years of returns of over $1 billion to the state of Georgia, including last year’s $1.516 billion for Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. Since its inception in 1993, the Georgia Lottery has returned more than $27.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. More than 2.1 million students have benefited from HOPE scholarships and grants, and more than 2 million 4-year-olds have attended lottery-funded Pre-K.

Prior to her role at the Georgia Lottery, Corbin served as Commissioner of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and Deputy Commissioner of Global Commerce and other roles at the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Corbin’s leadership has had a direct impact on Georgia. Since becoming president and CEO of the Georgia Lottery, approximately 525,000 students have received HOPE scholarships and grants, more than 454,600 4-year-olds have attended Georgia’s Pre-K program, and over 480 Georgia Lottery players have become millionaires. While serving as Commissioner of TCSG, 131,549 students graduated with a degree or skill from Georgia Technical College. While commissioner at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, $80 million was invested in companies, communities and housing entities, and 94,900 jobs and $17.4 billion of investments were created by Georgia companies, such as Gulfstream, Mohawk and Porsche, while Corbin led the Georgia Department of Economic Development. The item Gretchen is most proud of is the teamwork within these organizations that made all successes happen.

Corbin is involved in several professional and civic organizations, including Rotary International, Leadership Atlanta and Leadership Georgia, where she has served as president and chairman. She is the lead director of the Mega Millions Consortium. She recently served a two-year term as president of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL), and currently serves on the board of directors of the Rotary Club of Atlanta.

Corbin was named 2023 Georgian of the Year by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. She has been recognized for the last 10 years as one of Georgia Trend magazine’s 100 Most Influential Georgians, she was named one of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Top 20 Women Who Mean Business and she is one of James magazine’s Most Influential Georgians for the last six years.

Corbin, her husband, David, and their two daughters are proud to call Georgia home.
